I decided to use the skiff to mothership my kayak today. I explored some new territory and tried to hide from the wind. The gators had the place on lockdown. When you come face to face with these dinosaurs in the mangrove tunnels you have two options. Turnaround and go home or roll the dice and try to squeeze by or over without getting eaten. I am not easily rattled by wildlife. Being out there alone in a 12ft kayak, with 12ft gators at rod touching distance…its pretty sketchy. Once I got past the gate guards life was good! Tons of birds I have never seen before and a few fish to pull on with the Orvis 7wt.
