I feel like two years ago when I started fishing in South Florida the World Wide Web was buzzing with quality fish porn. Every day there was a new post on Salty Shores or Facebook of some incredible fishing adventure. Every week a new video was dropped by World Angling or some other bad ass production group. It was inspiring and motivating. It quenched that thirst to see some great fishing when you couldn’t be there yourself. Is nobody catching fish these days? I doubt it…even with my minimal experience and skills I manage a fish or two now and then. Are people scared to share for fears of exposing spots and tactics? Is everyone turned off to sharing for fear that the internet makes it too easy for beginners to figure things out? Are people too cool or good to take a picture or make a video? Is it laziness? The internet and social media are here to stay. I feel like there is a fine line between sharing and exposing. It’s our jobs as anglers to be responsible when it comes to reports and pictures. Some of the best fish porn I encounter is the kind with mystery…you don’t have to give all the details or a lengthy report for some quality fish porn. Just a few good shots or a quick clip is all it takes. The internet is so boring these days and my patience only allows for 3-4 flies a day. Please don’t make me turn on the xbox…I want more fishing! Do your part and make some porn! I am working on the summer video and I am excited to share it…only need about 40-50 more good seconds and it will be done.
