A group of friends and I spent a week on Andros Island, Bahamas…Kaliks, Bonefish and the shenanigans that ensued…
Long Strip
#mulberrytime
The first week of June usually signals the beginning of that special time of year. Mulberry time. The mulberries are now ripe enough to attract the attention of hungry birds and squirrels. Usually multiple squirrels and a variety of birds can be found in a mulberry tree at any given time. They feed on these berries quite aggressively because […]
Summertime Reds in the Park
Since the weather has been pretty bad lately, I figured I post my last trip on the Diablos to the park. My favorite part of the day was paddling out in slick calm waters of the ENP. We had 3 double hookup with my friend PK. Fly fishing rookie PK caught 7 reds on fly that day. his second time […]
Canvas & Acrylics
Well, with all of this terrible weather, I haven’t been able to fish too much. So I’ve had some time to spend on the easel and focus on some artwork. Here are a few of my latest pieces. More photos of other cool stuff I’ve done recently.
Take the Good With the Bad
Well, sometimes, even though there’s clouds and wind, there’s still a chance to catch some fish. Although I sometimes find myself deciding to stay in, instead of bust my ass in the elements through rain and wind just to get those handful of shots. But in reality, thats what it’s all about. I mean, any angler can […]
A Few New Pictures
Just a few new pictures from recent days on the water. Enjoy!
Knocking ’em Down
Well, as many of my spring time fishing in the past, I have also been doing a little bit of redfish fishing. A little bit of bow time for myself, and putting some friends on some reds, too. After celebrating the Miami Heat Championship all night long, the headed to the park in the afternoon with Jose Sanchez on his […]
Los Cayo’s
Finally in Islamorada: Target for the day, Tarpon…. Fishing with Adrienne Comeau (female angle) and Matt Smythe (fishingpoet). We launched the skiff and are onto look for poonage. Adrienne had already caught her first post last year down in Key West, and Matt had fished for them in Islamorada in the past as well, so I was hoping for some […]
Jumping Poon Sequence
We went searching for tarpon again last week. The conditions were not as good as last time, but we found a decent amount of rollers. Brandon managed to stick a hook in one fish’s mouth. The fish jumped several times during the fight. He leadered the fish on a few occasions, but the fish managed to pull loose boat-side before […]
Bonefishing has been good….
Really good! The permit continue to show themselves but they haven’t been playing nice like the bonefish. The biggest emotional let down in fly fishing for me…when the permit hard charges the fly and at the last second turns away casually like nothing happened. WTF! Why do they do that?…”Ain’t nobody got time for that!”
