Of the many fall runs in the Northeast, the salmon run that takes place in New York is surely a main event. Starting in late August, king salmon, coho, atlantics, brown trout, and steelhead all are on the move. For a fly angler looking to legally catch a king salmon on the swing, the earlier in the season you go and the lower in the river you fish, the greater your chances of success will be.
