Marsh Donks

The fishing has been good on the Upper Texas Coast when I have been able to get out between the storms that have been rolling through from the Gulf. I’ve got rained-out a few times lately, but I’m not complaining because we need the rain. Especially after the historic drought last year. The marshes on the Upper Texas Coast are […]

7/5/12 Biscayne

I finally got back on the water for the first time in over two weeks. I had good buddy Captain Derek Rust onboard today. He scored this beautiful bonefish on the first cast of the morning….it all went down in perfect fashion. Next spot I got a good shot at a permit following a ray, but the permit was absolutely […]

Ankona Owners Tournament

As some of you may know, I have a 2012 Ankona Copperhead Gen2. This past Saturday, they had set up a fun fishing tournament for owners of Ankona skiff’s to meet and hang out. Shark Rescue

I was out fishing this morning when I noticed a spear gun. It was moving across the flat. Attached to it was a Lemon Shark. I removed the spear and got a really nice Sea Hornet gun in the process! Check out the footage of me wrestling the spear free.

Memorial Day

I had the pleasure to spend the extended Memorial Day weekend down south with friends. The Lower Laguna is on my short list favorite places to fish, but I have a love/hate relationship with the area. The water is clear, the fish are plentiful, but the conditions are always unpredictable, specifically the wind. The winds seems to blow hard nearly […]

fla·min·go

I made it out to the park with a buddy Dan Decibel to chase some redfish and snook on the long rod. On his first shot of the day, Dan pulled out what became his biggest redfish on fly to date at 28″. I had the bright idea of putting his wading fly basket on and poling myself to a […]
