How I Wasted My Summer

So I started this about four months ago, while waiting on an airplane and it seems like I didn’t have more than two minutes to sit and think until now, waiting on another airplane.  The time that lapsed between these two flights included many other small flights, boat rides, despair, safety meetings, hikes, pistol toting, net jobs, filleting, constructing, high […]

Over Due

September and October for me was relatively casual. I didn’t have much much work going on, I got to do plenty of traveling, and I got to spend some time with some great people both on and off the water. I eagerly await the rest of the fall down here. The Gheenoe Life

It seems like now a days my bank account is always in the red. But I was lucky enough to save a little cash and invest it in the Highsider Gheenoe this year. Back to Your Roots

Now I am far from what people would describe as ‘sentimental’. But I do have a special place reserved in my heart for the small streams of western North Carolina. Coincidentally enough, these streams are the first place that Ben and I fished together. We meet up every few months to fish, mostly here in south Florida, the Bahamas, and sometimes out in Colorado. But we always make a point of heading back up to WNC to hit these beautiful small streams. Wild_Rainbow_Swc

“Snook Blitz”

After a slow morning looking for hungry fish on the flats, near Gasparilla Sound, we were ready to call it a day. Bryan, Courtney, and myself had put in some hours blind casting the 8 and 9wt fly rods into the wind. Sore hands and blisters were common on the boat that day. With the wind blowing the water into the harbor […]
