Dan and I decided to fish the FFT tournament thrown by the guys at Florida Sportsman down in Flamingo. We decided to fish it with only fly rods, as we normally fish on any given day. But if there was ever a day to actually bring some spinning rods on the skiff, this day would have been it. With that said, we still had a blast, and got into some fish in the worst conditions I have ever seen in Flamingo.
Lines in was 6:30 am. By 6:34, Dan was hooked up into a nice tarpon on the 10wt that would have maxed us out on points, but of course, the fly came loose. Some small snook and a couple reds to end the day, but we still had some fun, even though we fell short.
